A friend of mine asked me this question, and I think that it could be useful to share the answer to the community.
If you want to find a job quickly, you've got internet (gumtree.com - monster.co.uk ), recruitment agencies or dropping CV in shops around. After, it depends which kind of job you are looking for...
You've got several kind of job :
Temporary - Permanent : Less that one year will be temporary
Part-time or Full-time job : Full-time will be around 35 to 40 hours per week, sometimes more than that.
For a quick find, you will have gumtree.com , which is, from far, the best website for people who wants to come in London and find flat and job quickly. There is several section with all kind of job, from bar work to HR. Updated in realtime, you will find a lot of ads which can match your profile. But you have to be organised in your research.
You will have also popular websites as monster.co.uk , or all the others recruitment agencies. Some of them are specialized in professional fields, so google can help to find the best ones. You will just have to register yourself through their Websiote, and call them each week to remember them you exist !
When you want to drop CV in places around, you have to make the first good impression. Right clothes, self-confidence, dynamism. Your CV need to be "flexible" for each owner to ind the right element they need in one look. A lot of shops are advertising on their windows if they've got position available, so keep an eye on that all time.
If you've got some questions about that, leave your com's and I'll awnser them right back.
Toddles,
Charlye
